𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚'𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲
In March 2024, six-year-old Alinta arrived at the Mamie Gbluwon Hope Center in Larpea #1 Town, Nimba County, Liberia. Behind her bright, sparkling eyes was the weight of a sudden tragedy: she had lost her father in a tragic accident while he was felling a tree.
As the family’s sole provider, his passing left Alinta’s mother facing the overwhelming challenge of caring for Alinta and her two siblings alone. Driven by a profound love and concern for her youngest daughter’s future, she made the difficult but courageous decision to seek help at the Hope Center, knowing she could not meet all of Alinta’s needs by herself.

The Hope Center welcomed Alinta with open arms, offering her more than just a safe place to stay. She found a caring community, a sense of belonging, and a new family.
Today, Alinta is a joyful first grader at Mensonn Baptist Church School. She is learning to speak English and grows in confidence each day, surrounded by supportive staff and friends who cheer her on.
On Sundays, you’ll often find her right in the middle of the children’s church at Mensonn Baptist Church. She loves Sunday School and sings with a happiness that reflects her resilient spirit.
𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥
Alinta is known for her contagious smile and her natural ability to make friends. When she’s not in class, she enjoys colouring, riding her bike, and watching her favourite Christmas story, Star.
Although her life was touched by deep loss at such a young age, a new dream is taking shape in her heart. Alinta hopes to become a nurse one day, wanting to care for others just as she has been cared for at the Center.
