Churches are normally started in someone's home, in a tent, in a community center, or in a classroom. Once a congregation begins to experience growth, the next area of need becomes the acquisition of a property. In most of the villages and towns, land is virtually free. Help is primarily needed with the construction of a worship building. And when it comes to labor, members are available and willing to mold their own bricks and even gather some of the needed woods. Churches with skilled men usually have those men volunteering to lay foundation and handle the technical aspects of construction. So for the most part, outside help is most needed with metal zinc for roofing, cement for laying of foundation, and steel for pillars. An amount of $5,000 can help to put up a decent church building in any town or village.
For the past two years, SERVE Africa has assisted in providing zinc, steel, and cement for ten churches. With partnerships in this area, we are eager to do more in capacitating new churches get their own places of worship.
It will be a profound blessing should your church or organization come alongside us and adopt one of our village churches. Call us (+1515-525-5826) or email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you need more information about adopting a church.
