Access to safe drinking water should be a fundamental right for all individuals, yet many rural communities in Liberia continue to face significant challenges in this regard. Open Pit Wells are often the primary source of water for residents in these villages, but unfortunately, this method does not guarantee clean or safe drinking water. Additionally, in some remote areas, creeks and streams are utilized as sources for gathering drinking water, which raises serious health concerns due to potential contamination.
Urgent action is needed to address this critical issue that affects the lives of many. We are looking for partnerships to construct 100 hand pumps that will not only enhance water purification but also ensure water safety for impoverished villages, communities, and orphanages.
The cost of construction and installation of one bore-hole hand pump is $6,885. Each hand pump is designed to serve at least 1,000 people over many years, making it a sustainable solution for water access. By investing in these vital resources, we can significantly improve the quality of life for those affected by abject poverty.
