Let's celebrate your birthday in a special way! Do you know you can raise money for Serve Africa on your birthday?
Your support provides safe drinking water for orphans, poor villagers and their communities. With a birthday fundraiser, you can rally the support of your friends by asking them to chip in with as little as $5. Usually, it works pretty fast and smoothly since the donation amount is normally small and many friends are involved. It is proven that this is one of the easiest and convenient ways to raise support without having to send out too many appeals. Facebook Birthday Fundraiser can work for anyone who has a Facebook account.
In 2022 alone, Serve Africa received $1,200 in donations from birthday fundraisers set up by five of its partners through Facebook. That means 100 birthday fundraisers, for example, could generate up to $24,000 in a year.
Donations from the fundraisers are used to construct hand pumps. The hand pumps will provide safe drinking water for orphans (orphanages) and poor villagers, who currently drink from open pit wells.
How it works:
On your personal Facebook page, type Fundraisers in the Search Bar. When prompted with "Fundraisers". Click it and you be taken to Facebook Fundraiser page.
On the "Select Nonprofit" button, click and type Serve Africa. By typing in Serve Africa, you make Serve Africa the beneficiary organization.
Go ahead set your goal amount. Facebook usually has $200 as its default amount but you can increase it to any amount of your choice.
Set the duration of the fundraiser. Usually it's a good idea to set up the fundraiser a week before your birthday.
Add a picture so your friends have a better idea about what you are raising fund for.
After adding all the required information, go ahead and click CREATE and your fundraiser will be available for donation.
