AN URGENT CALL TO ACTION
Serve Africa's Hope Center School in Liberia is facing a serious challenge of safe drinking water. There is no safe drinking water at the Center for its 200 students and 20 staff members.
The Center’s current source of water is an open well which is not safe for drinking. So for students to get clean water to drink, staff members would have to walk for at least 2 miles to fetch water from a community hand pump. On certain days when the community hand pump became dysfunctional, the school was constrained to buy water for students. And on some other occasions when funding was not available to buy water, classes were dismissed early.
Now with the weather in Liberia at 85-90 degree/F and expected to hit the mid 90s in March, the Center is now experiencing one of the worst water crises.
So, please consider this as a request and an invitation to you, your church, or organization to kindly come alongside Serve Africa and help to construct a Borehole Pumping Well at the Hope Center. The cost of one borehole hand pump is at least 7,027. We are working with a competent water company, Living Water International, to do the drilling. Living Water International is specialized in drilling and managing water systems. It is based in Texas with offices in Liberia.
We are presently 35% away from reaching our goal. Would you kindly make a generous donation to help us construct a safe drinking water system for kids at the Hope Center?
A Bill of Quantity (BoQ) or Quotation from Living Water International is attached here.
Please write checks to Serve Africa or give online here. Our mailing address is:
